Description:
Do you have experience in HR and finance administration? Are you looking for a new challenge in an academic environment? We at Signature are recruiting for a Section Manager to join our client, a leading London university. This temporary, full-time position has an immediate start, and offers the benefit of a hybrid working model. You will be required to work 3 days a week in the office, and the balance from home.
The role as Section Manager supports the Professional Services team in the administration of finance and HR for designated groups within the department. You will oversee essential HR processes, prepare documentation for new and existing staff, and provide comprehensive support for academic grant proposals. You’ll play a pivotal role in post-award financial management, ensuring budgets are monitored to prevent over or underspending. Acting as liaison, you’ll communicate professionally between departments, and assist academic staff with queries and processes.
SECTION MANAGER KEY SKILLS:
- A background in HR with an understanding of processes and terminology.
- Experience in finance, with an understanding of grant funding within the UK.
- Flexible and organised, capable of prioritising workloads and accommodating urgent requests.
- A team player with outstanding communication abilities, comfortable interacting with both senior and junior levels of staff.
Ideal candidates will have experience within the higher education sector, although this is desirable rather than essential. Training will be provided, but a foundational understanding of HR and finance processes and terminology is necessary. Apply today for this fantastic opportunity!
While we aim to respond to every applicant, the volume of applications may result in delayed communication. If you do not receive a response within a week, your application may not have been successful on this occasion, but we will keep your details for potential future opportunities.
Please be aware that Signature Recruitment will never reach out to candidates through WhatsApp, nor will we request sensitive information like bank details, passport, or driving licence data during the application process. For a secure job search and reliable flexible work, we advise consulting Jobs Aware who ensure all workers and work-seekers in the UK have access to free help and advice, as well as provide an option to report a scam or exploitation.T9699
