In mobilisation towards this objective, Founders Factory has built a global Climate Tech platform to invest in transformational technologies across key industries and international hubs.
Located in Perth, Western Australia and investing globally, we have launched a new hub and two Accelerator programs in partnership with the Western Australian Government and global mining company, Rio Tinto. Through these programs we will fund over 72 startups over the next 3 years in areas including decarbonisation, exploration, nature, safety, and productivity.
We’re now hiring a Sector Director, Mining Tech to operationalise the delivery of our Rio Tinto Mining Tech Program, being hands-on and orchestrating a team and providing the key expertise to drive the development, funding and commercialisation of the startups we back.

You will be responsible for operating a four month cohort-based program supporting 12 pre-seed and seed stage startups a year that are transforming nature & biodiversity, water, exploration, productivity, safety and decarbonisation.
As Sector Director, you will ensure the exceptional delivery of our accelerator program, bringing in experts from Founders Factory and beyond to deliver the program. You will work closely with our partner Rio Tinto to establish relationships, problem statements and facilitate commercial opportunities between them and the portfolio.
The role will also involve building relationships with international founders, angels, VCs and universities in the climate, deep tech and mining tech sectors. Good candidates should have outstanding people skills, hustle, resilience, deep empathy with founders and a high curiosity for technology and tech startups.
Startups will have a strong hardware & deeptech focus, and the ideal candidate will have extensive experience building and scaling complex hardware or climate solutions, and selling those solutions into large-scale industrial customers.
You will work directly with founders throughout the accelerator program, closely supporting on building out their product, finding routes to commercialisation, defining their fundraising strategy, and supporting them to raise their next round of funding.
