We are actively seeking a Security Automation Engineer.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong Proficiency in Python programming language, including experience with atleast one of the frameworks such as Flask, Django and FastAPI
  • Experience using the Boto3 Python library
  • Experience with shell scripting and Linux administration including ssh, scp, rsync, and sudo
  • Atleast 2+ years of experience with automation tools like SaltStack, Ansible, or Puppet
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following programming languages: Java, Node.js, JSON, PHP, Perl
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture, and an understanding of how to design and implement them effectively
  • Working knowledge of configuring, modifying, and managing some Windows servers and users, including OS patching and upgrading
  • Refactoring Skills: Knowledge of how to refactor code to improve its quality, maintainability, performance, and scalability while preserving its functionality
  • Ready, willing, and able to pick up new technologies and pitch in on tasks (design, code, test, CI/CD, deploy, etc.)
  • Knowledge of vulnerability scanning, encryption, cloud monitoring, firewalls, and Credential, and Access Management (ICAM).
    Requirements:

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience supporting DHS Agencies.
  • Ability to demonstrate and explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Able to clearly communicate with both customers and teammates and provide recommendations for improvements to existing software applications
  • Experience working in an agile development environment

Years of Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in automation, scripting esp in Python
  • 2+ years of experience with automation tools like SaltStack, Ansible, or Puppet

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field is required.
Location: This position may be staffed at the Government’s facility in Williston, VT or in the Washington, DC area, or other locations in the United States with approval by the Government.
Clearance: Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Government Agency clearance. DHS EOD is a major plus
