The roles, responsibilities and duties of a Security Officer can be performed in many different sectors and varying roles. This Position Description outlines the general duties in line with specific role types and acts as a guide rather than a comprehensive list of tasks.
Key Responsibilities May Include:
- Protecting the premises, employees, contractor and visitors
- Maintaining focus and observing the activities associated with asset protection
- Using appropriate methods of communication (e.g. radio, phone, log books) to report incidents and issues
- Ensuring that with knowledge of the client site and requirements, any out of the ordinary events are identified and actioned
- Providing exceptional customer service at all times
- Identifying and rectifying issues
- Ensuring specified service levels are maintained
- Ensuring professional conduct, presentation and attitude at all times
- Being pleasant, courteous and helpful to clients, staff and customers at all times
- Any additional duties as requested by Management
- Complying with the HSE Policy and applicable regulatory and company HSE rules and requirements
- Immediately reporting all incident (injuries, illnesses, near misses, spills etc…), hazardous conditions and emergencies to his/her supervisor
- Participating in HSE training programs and take personal responsibility for his/her own safety
- Recommending improved HSE practices
