Description:
Responsibilities of the Security Officer include the assurance of a safe/secure environment for all patients, visitors and staff that may include the use of systems or personal observations. Assists with all disruptive situations. The incumbent has access to confidential information and works under the indirect supervision of the Director. Works independently or with a team. Acts as liaison with Law Enforcement and Fire Departments
MINIMUM/REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- Maintain Hazmat First Responder and Fire/EMS qualifications after hire.Possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of 36 hour Basic Fire training.
- Completion of security program that includes formal report writing and handling of disruptive situations.
- Completion of Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy, Ohio Corrections Officer Training or Military Police Experience.
- 1-2 years Security experience in a health care environment

Responsibilities:
- Educates staff on safety and security processes
- Enforce all hospital and departmental policies
- Conducts regular fire drills, extinguisher inspections and documents per department guidelines
- Documents and communicates hospital related incidents to hospital management and/or law enforce
- Investigates thefts and recommends procedure changes based on findings and trends
- Resolves disruptive situations
- Assists visitors and associates with way finding or security concerns
- Coordinate processing of deceased persons in the Morgue
