Description:

Overview:
Our Security Officer 1 will assist in managing the St. Petersburg headquarters facility’s overall Security Program while ensuring compliance with the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), and other government and contractual security requirements. They will support in maintaining a working relationship with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), the National Security Agency (NSA), the customer, and other internal/external stakeholders.

Major Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages security protocols and ensures they are followed for the protection of the organization’s property, assets, and people.
  • Maintains and may implement safety and security protocols for assigned facilities.
  • Managing the coordination and administration of security clearances.
  • Ensures processes are in place for preventing losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures, and evicting trespassers.
  • Review and/ or respond to requests for safety/security assistance from employees.
  • May coordinate with local law enforcement agencies when necessary.
  • Takes proactive steps and assesses risks to ensure a safe and secure working environment to staff and visitors.
  • Leads the investigation of crimes with leadership support.
  • May conduct educational activities related to safety and crime prevention.
  • Assigns or oversees the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of security staff including security guards.
  • Provides specialized security for and monitors access to limited and restricted access areas.
  • May also act as a liaison between site security and IT to ensure proper access is maintained for high security areas.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
  • This position is Safety Sensitive
  • Travel Requirements: No or very little travel likely.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree and 0-3 years of relevant experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience.
  • Ability to work as part of a team. Decision-making skills. Oral and written communication skills. Problem/situation analysis. Judgement. Detail oriented. Ability to meet deadlines. Attentiveness.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to hold and maintain Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
