ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an opportunity for a Security Officer to be part of our Police Academy, People and Capability. To perform safety and security services for the New South Wales Police Force in an ethical, efficient and cost effective manner for all Academy sites, facilities and persons therein

Based in Goulburn at the NSW Police Academy, the position is in within an easy commute of both Canberra and the Southern Highlands. The position entails working 8 hours shifts on a 19-day 4-weekly roster covering shifts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Shift penalties and allowances apply to public holidays, weekends, afternoon and night shifts with a flexible approach to rostering to provide employees the ability to have a suitable work/life balance. Working in a small team, the position is responsible for on-site security, this includes (among other duties):

  • Staffing the front gate,
  • Locking and unlocking facilities
  • Providing after hours assistance to students and visiting staff,
  • General on-site security monitoring and patrols.
