Description:

To assist with any security emergency via rapid response Blic. Provide a first line response to support staff dealing with violent and aggressive persons/patients within the Becton Centre, or if required provide a first line response to any incidents that present within the Becton perimeters, grounds, main corridors, out of hour areas etc. To support clinical teams with planned restrictive intervention and unplanned emergency restrictive intervention. To provide prolonged support to clinical teams that are supporting young people with mental health or challenging behavioural needs.
This will include 1;1 clinical colleague support on lodge areas to keep staff and patients safe. To support clinical teams with high-risk patient transfers within the Becton Centre To assist and action crime prevention measures. This will include but is not exhaustive to working with stakeholders such as the Police, to share information on violent or abusive incidents, theft, persons that pose a risk to staff or patients and to enforce any Community Protection Notices or such like. To have good communications skills and knowledge when questioning witnesses and to gather and record information appropriately for the Police and Security Manager following an incident To communicate effectively and have knowledge and experience in active listening and de-escalation skills.
Candidates will be first responders to incidents whereby staff, patients or visitors may have been subjected to a traumatic experience or may be the aggressor. As a first line responder you will be expected to support, or attempt de-escalate the situation. To undertake duties as outlined in the fire alarm roles and responsibilities process. This includes, toinvestigate the cause of fire alarms and advise the Fire Co-Ordinator of the cause of the alarm (minimum 2 members of staff required).
To be available should Fire Services attend, silence the alarm when confirmed false alarm or when the event is over (to be approved by attending Fire Service). To reset fire panel when the incident is over or when Fire Services give permission. To ensure that the correct documentation is completed after every incident and passed on to management in the form of incident logs, team handover documents and CCTV audit documents. To document any requests for repairs and maintenance and handover to the Portering Team at the end of the shift.
To provide early indications of unwanted activity around the site by observing the CCTV system and liaising with staff and police on viewing as required. Maintaining a highly visible deterrent by presence and the patrolling of the Becton Site internally and externally. To carry out routine security checks on all internal and external doors, document and pass on to management. To provide support to the Portering Team when required due to increased demand, this will include, waste disposal, food delivery ad hoc disposal requests.
To actively discourage people from smoking on site. Litter removal from the main entrance internal and external.
