Description:
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY:
- Knowledge of relevant equipment and procedures utilized to ensure safety and security in a mental health facility.
- Knowledge of current techniques in working with and treating the mentally ill.
- Knowledge of interviewing and information gathering techniques.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to make observations to report and record them accurately.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to monitor and analyze information, events, or the environment to assess and resolve a variety of situations and circumstances.
- Ability to work cooperatively and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, other agencies, and the public.
- Ability operate a personal computer and general office equipment as necessary to complete the essential functions including using word processing, e-mail, and computer programs relevant to their duties.
- Meet the following minimum qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years working as a psychiatric technician or similar work experience with security and mentally ill patient treatment functions.
- Must maintain CPR Certification.
- Other combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
