QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-H, FG/GS-12 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Specialized Experience is defined as:
Experience preparing outreach and talking points for engagements with community Federal, State, Local, Territorial, and Tribal UAS Security and law enforcement partners and with the Public, industry and international entities in response to UAS security concerns that would be applicable to civil aviation. AND
Experienced communicator, providing written and verbal assessments, briefings, and analysis for managers and senior leaders. AND
Experience in developing aviation and security policy.

Responsibilities:

DUTIES

The incumbent serves as an Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Outreach and Administrative Analyst in the Office of National Security Programs and Incident Response (AXE), UAS Security Division, (AXE-U00).
Provides management and analytical support with internal and interagency activities related to security issues associated with the integration of UAS into the National Airspace System (NAS). Performs multiple, varying, and complex assignments under the direction of a manager or more experienced professional. Applies experience and comprehensive knowledge of program areas such as (UAS security requirements, UAS enforcement, UAS integration as UAS Remote Identification, Unmanned Traffic Management, Advanced Air Mobility).
Typical duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Provides support in coordinating actions and policies with other Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Lines of Business on UAS security projects; development of AXE policies, clearance of orders, directives and guidance for the Office of Security and Hazardous Materials Safety (ASH) involving UAS Security activities; and preparing and supporting reports that cross FAA and interagency, program specific, and organizational lines.
Coordinates with other ASH offices on the development, implementation, and reporting of UAS Security initiatives. Serves as a crossfunctional integrator and collaborates on UAS security activities across the FAA.
Provides organizational, documentation and administrative support of UAS Security activities for meetings and working groups of ASH staff assigned responsibility for integrating UAS.
Prepares internal and external letters, newsletters, web-based content, information memorandums, white papers, presentations, Congressional and public inquiries, external trade shows and conferences, etc on UAS security issues as assigned.
Contacts are internal and external. May act as a point of contact to provide advice and guidance on the applications of policies and procedures.
Established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments, but allow considerable discretion for employee to select the most appropriate approach(es) or develop new approaches. Assignments regularly require interpretations of internal and external policies and extrapolations from precedents.
Resolves most problems and work issues without the assistance of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Develops and recommends approaches to address current and anticipated problems and issues. Works with management and/or more experienced professionals to solve problems.
Work is rarely reviewed, typically through status reports and at project completion, to ensure policy compliance and alignment with the requirements of projects and/or other work activities. Work activities typically impact directly on the objectives of one or more organizational units, major subdivisions, and/or LOB/SOs and may affect the objectives of the FAA.
Performs other duties as assigned.
