EXCITING CAREER OPPORTUNITY: SERVICE ENGINEER

Are you a skilled and proactive Service Engineer seeking a new and dynamic role? Join our team as we expand, and play a vital part in maintaining and repairing Security Systems installed at customer premises. Reporting to the Service Manager, this position demands initiative, autonomy, and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

PRIMARY ROLE:

As a Service Engineer (SE), you will be an essential member of our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing Security Systems. This role requires flexibility to adapt to changes within the company and varying workloads.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Receiving work assignments from the Service Administrator (SA) or Service Manager (SM).
  • Conducting reactive fault finding and rectification on various security systems, including CCTV, IP CCTV, Access Control, Intruder Alarms, Door Entry Systems, Server Hardware/Software, and Workstation Hardware/Software.
  • Performing planned preventative maintenance on security systems.
  • Participating in the 24/7/365 callout rota, providing reactive fault finding and rectification outside regular hours.
  • Maintaining flexibility regarding work areas, as clients are located throughout the UK and Europe.
  • Attending client premises promptly, ensuring a courteous and professional appearance, and keeping clients informed of job progress.
  • Advising the Service Manager immediately in case of difficulties in fulfilling duties.
  • Completing relevant service paperwork for each job.
  • Offering demonstrations or discussions with clients upon job completion.
  • Notifying the SM or SA of any unrectified faults, return visits, or required parts before leaving the site.
  • Providing feedback on encountered problems and successful service and maintenance areas.
  • Monitoring work progress and advising the SM of any changes through regular Service Meetings.
  • Ensuring all applicable documentation is provided to enable the correct completion of duties.
  • Taking responsibility for other engineers or Junior Engineers when necessary, monitoring and assisting in their progression.
  • Informing the SM of exceptional performance or areas for improvement among Junior Engineers.
  • Following safety procedures and complying with BS EN ISO9001:2000 and NSI (NACOSS) procedures.
  • Maintaining company-provided vehicles and mobile telephones according to operating rules.
  • Adhering to dress code and carrying identification at all times.
  • Fulfilling any reasonable requests from management.
