Description:

  1. To assist with planning and co-ordinating training packages with reference to the Knowledge and Skills Framework under Agenda for Change, and Local Clinical Security Framework. 2. To assist in co-ordinating training strategy for high secure services that meet the training needs of the staff and area concerned.
  2. Adapt and develop training packages and or dates dependent upon need, sometimes at short notice, including specialist training unique to High Secure Services. Most of this training will be performed at ward / department level. 4.
    Assist in the effective operation of the Training Department and act up in the absence of the training manager. 5. To assist with security department performance audits and / or security incidents, when required. 6.
    Provide regular reports both oral and written specific to their role to managers regarding training for internal and external audit, queries and incident investigation. 7. Ensure the accurate recording and maintenance of staff training records. 8.
    Adapt training as required for staff and areas when required. 9. Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed when performing training for staff. 10.
    Take responsibility for own development through personal development programme process. 11. Plan and organise training both in-house and externally to identified staff or areas. 12.
    Assist with developing and maintaining links with outside agencies and other high secure hospitals in relation to training or security equipment development. 13. To ensure that all work within the training department and on wards / departments is in accordance with the Trusts equality and diversity strategy and the Local Clinical Security Framework. 14.
    Must have significant demonstrable experience in a high secure setting and understand the procedures and protocols required to maintain current security levels. 15. Liaise with on site maintenance staff with regard to training relevant to their role. 16.
    Liaise with Control and Communications Centre Supervisors and managers to carryout in house training of all staff employed in that area, and maintain training records. 17. Maintain written and electronic records of all training carried-out within the Local Clinical Security Framework and in house training. 18.
    To keep abreast of developments in training and security and to adapt training when required. 19. To assist with the development and maintenance of security procedures which promote safe and secure practice. 20.
    Provide reports to the training department manager when required in relation to staff training. 21. To collate the departments Monthly Search Statistics and record and disseminate accordingly whilst maintaining a record for Prison Service Audit. 22.
    To collate the departments Programmed Search Statistics’ and record and disseminate the information accordingly whilst maintaining a record for Prison Service Audit. 23. Management of confidential information
