Description:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • LLQP (Life License Qualification Program) is an asset
  • GBA (Group Benefits Associate) or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) designation is an asset
  • Post secondary education
  • 5+ years in the group insurance industry specifically in employee benefits, including Underwriting, Sales & Service working on mid to large size companies
  • Strong knowledge of group benefits policy contracts and language
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including business writing skills
  • Strong listening and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail including strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize/manage workload under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously but also able to collaborate well with a team
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and service existing employee benefit clients to ensure benefit plans run smoothly
  • Maintain strong client retention
  • Generate and identify revenue growth opportunities
  • Prepare for and participate in employee presentations, meetings, and industry events
  • Provide information, advice and advocacy for clients to ensure their benefit plan meets the strategic objectives of their organization and provides maximum value to employees
  • Establish and maintain company relationships consistent with our values
  • Stay ahead of industry, market and legislative trends that impact health and welfare plan design, delivery and compliance
