1. Job Overview
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for handling and overseeing all aspects of monthly financial closing of the regional HQ cost center and providing support and guidance for the other Business Units (BUs) within the LATAM region.
2. Principal Accountabilities

Accounting Process (HQ entity only, except where noted)

  • Prepare, document and post manual journal entries on SAP Vision
  • Prepare, document and post manual intercompany invoices
  • Perform calculation and book amortization Prepaid and Intangibles
  • Review intercompany recharges and reclass expenses as needed
  • Investigate, analyze and record general accruals
  • Analyze and book regional allocations (recharges) from BU’s
  • Post HFM Manual Journal Entries on AAA Entities
  • Calculate and book monthly Tax accrual on SAP
  • Review and follow up of accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Calculate and book quarterly Profit in Stock adjustment for the region
  • Prepare and upload account reconciliation in Blackline

Financial Reporting Process

  • Extract financial data from SAP and upload monthly results to FDM/HFM
  • Review BG IC reconciliations
  • Submit Supplemental data on HFM
  • Submit AAA entities Closing Balances including supplementals
  • Generate Bunsiess Group (BG) Validations Report and follow up with BU’s until all validations are clear.
  • Prepare quarterly Business Reporting Package (“BRP”) for the FLA Corp group.
  • Prepare annual Statutory Reporting Package (“SRP”) for the FLA Corp group.
  • Supports local BU’s finance teams on compliance with Corporate reporting and trouble shooting of Corporate Reporting tools.

Internal Control Process HQentity only, except where noted)

  • Assure approval of manual journal entries in compliance with policy.
  • Assure execution and approval of the Quarterly Movement control over manual journal entries.
  • Supports management of quarterly and year end audits perform by GIA and external auditors
  • Supports BG controller on preparation of BG SOX controls.
  • Supports BG Controller on communication and execution of group accounting policies and complex transactions.
  • Supports management and creation of new vendors on SAP Vision.
  • Supports communication and solves issues with the North America shared service center.
  • Submission of Inter-company and vendor invoices to North America SSC.

  1. Qualifications/Requirements

Knowledge and Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in an internal controls / internal or external audit / risk management environment preferably gained in a large global Corporate and/or a Big 4 Accounting firm.
  • Strong and practical working knowledge of current SOX requirements preferably in the Manufacturing sector.
  • Demonstrated accounting and controls knowledge across the core financial processes
  • IT controls aware in areas such as configurable controls and IT General Controls
  • Experience of driving process change and improvement
  • End-to-end process minded; experience with data analytics a plus;
  • BS Education, Certifications & other
  • BA or BS in Accounting or related field or Internal Audit specialization;
  • Masters a plus; professional certifications desirable (CIA, CPA or CFE)
