As a Senior Accountant, you will be reporting to the Senior Finance Manager and will be responsible for leading process improvement initiatives for the Coda Group as well as overseeing the financial operations of the parent entity and active subsidiaries. This will also include the monthly closing process, tax compliance obligations, statutory compliance obligations, and other accounting matters.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Diploma in Accounting / ACCA / Degree in Accountancy or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of working experience, preferably within the fintech/payments industry and familiarity with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (“MAS”) Payment Services Act reporting requirements.
  • Strong technical accounting skills with the ability to apply complex Financial Reporting Standards and Local GAAP of multiple jurisdictions to our financial statements.
  • Advanced Excel skills and formula knowledge to handle large data sets. Familiarity with using Netsuite and Alteryx would be a huge plus.
  • Meticulous, self-motivated, responsible, strategic thinker and a team player with a passion for leveraging technology to enhance efficiency.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight statutory deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across various functions within the organization

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with our internal product and engineering teams and spearhead multiple projects to design specifications for automating Netsuite entries posted from our internal systems and other management reports.
  • Perform a comprehensive review of end-to-end transaction flow related to prospective business models and strategic initiatives, identifying potential roadblocks due to local accounting or tax restrictions and proposing solutions to ensure successful implementation.
  • Lead the optimization of the digital inventory requisition and reconciliation process to ensure high-quality COGS data for informed pricing decisions.
  • Proactively identify and address data quality issues within transaction data, collaborating with engineers and project owners to implement resolution strategies.
  • Review of commercial agreements and provide support to legal and business teams on the negotiation process with our partners to secure new deals.
  • Lead the financial reporting and operational process automation/improvement initiatives to continuously enhance the team’s efficiency, scalability and resilience.
  • Train and support other team members on the usage of tools such as Alteryx to reduce the amount of manual effort to reconcile large volumes of data and churn out custom reports automatically.
  • Responsible for all accounting matters of the assigned legal entities within the Coda group to ensure compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards, local GAAP, group policies, MAS reporting requirements as well as tax requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with internal finance teams and external vendors to ensure that the financials and tax compliance obligations for the subsidiaries in various countries are completed accurately and timely.
  • Provide support in the Group and subsidiaries’ audit process which involves the preparation of supporting documents and financial statements.
  • Provide support in the preparation of reports and liaise with various stakeholders such as management, auditors and governmental bodies.
  • Respond to official inquiries from tax officers or relevant authorities in the assigned subsidiaries in a professional and timely manner, ensuring all information provided is accurate and transparent.
  • Any other ad-hoc matters.
