Responsibilities:
- Become the expert for all the company’s expenses; responsible for the preparation and oversight of all items related to expenses including the month-end close process, associated balance sheet account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and related reporting and disclosure
- Maintain fixed assets, including capitalized software, on an ongoing basis, including tracking work-in-process assets, maintaining capital expenditure spreadsheets, processing asset sales/retirements, communicating with operations managers to ensure asset listings are complete, and recording depreciation/amortization expense
- Drive insightful and actionable analytics; tracking expenses, analyzing month-over-month variances, and communicating anomalies to leadership for follow up
- Own primary financial communications by managing the Finance inbox
- Lead year-end audit requests related to expenses
- Oversee and participate in the processing of accounts payable
- Support the administration of expense reimbursement system
- Build weekly cash reporting to assist in cash flow projections
- Prepare monthly sale/use/excise tax report(s) and annual 1099s for reporting
- Enhance process documents for all related processes, policies and procedures
- Ensure accurate and timely transaction processing, accounting & reporting in accordance with policies and US GAAP
- Assist in database maintenance and validations
- Apply technical accounting requirements for expense related items to company-specific situations
- Lead operational improvement initiatives to further streamline tasks and shorten the expense close calendar
