Our client is seeking a full-time senior tax accountant to support all aspects of servicing their growing specialist practice. This role presents a unique opportunity for an experienced accountant to broaden their skill base towards more complex matters, liaising with legal practitioners and other professional advisors in handling
the sensitivities of administering deceased estate taxation matters.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5 years’ Australian experience involving tax return preparation
  • CA/CPA qualified (or near to)
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient Microsoft suite skills and strong IT skills
  • Willingness and desire to learn new skills and take ownership of processes
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks
  • Be a team player, who is also able to work autonomously as required
  • An inquisitive mind with which to understand and interpret taxation matters
  • Thrives on identifying of problems, analysing possible solutions and deciding on a best course of action

  • Preparation of income tax returns for individuals, deceased estates and testamentary trusts matters predominately referred by specialist legal practitioners
  • CGT cost base reconstructions
  • Working alongside technical advisory team
  • Understanding the tax implications of estate administration and associated legal terms and principles
  • Preparation of instalment and business activity statements
  • Liaising with executors and other external legal and accounting professionals
