Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant is an analytical, detail-oriented individual with soft interpersonal skills. This positions’ responsibilities include performing account reconciliations, assisting in maintaining the general ledger, helping with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.
This role will have excellent communication, accuracy, and organizational skills with the ability to work in a high-volume environment, and the demonstrated ability to support all other departments within the company.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- 3+ years of accounting experience in increasingly responsible role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Strong financial analysis skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, listening and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work accurately with figures and to perform detailed work.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Comfort with technology and strong ability to learn new systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with confidential data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
- General math skills.
- Solid understanding of payroll best practices.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
- Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconcile transactions and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, assist in preparing a trial balance, and reconcile entries.
- Summarize financial status by collecting information and assisting in preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
- Assist in payroll processing duties as needed.
- Assist in external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.
- Prepare financial analyses and reports.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned by manager.
