Our client, a commodities firm is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team in Hamburg.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Account reconciliations in foreign currencies
• Preparing the accounting and financial reporting
• Responsibility for accounting journals, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations and bank transfers
• Analysis of general ledger accounts
• Analysis of intercompany charges and transactions
• Monitoring hedging activities and transactions
• Assisting in implementing of new accounting processes and systems

You will need to have the following:

• Experience with accounting standards – German GAAP/ HGB or US GAAP
• Strong technical accounting knowledge
• Good command of English and German
• Knowledge of IT systems (e.g. SAP, Netsuit, ION)
