Galway, manufactures and distributes a range of medical device products used in the diagnosis of human neurological disorders.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree from college or university in accounting and/or Finance.
- ACA/ACCA qualification.
- 1-3 years of experience gained in a multinational company with shared service centre exposure advantageous.
- Experience of statutory accounting and VAT in other European countries an advantage
- Self-starter with a willingness to take initiative and follow through on tasks.
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as multi-tasking and working to deadlines.
- Excellent Excel/IT skills, Oracle experience advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide effective customer service to various levels of individuals/teams and build strong working relationships across the organization.
- Collaborative team player; adaptable and comfortable working in a changing and fast-paced environment
Responsibilities:
- Preparation, analysis, and posting of journals.
- Calculation, posting, and analysis of monthly accruals and prepayments.
- Preparation and analysis of balance sheet reconciliations at month-end
- End-to-end ownership, review, and reconciliation of inter-company accounts across the group
- Responsibility for VAT reporting and filing on a monthly basis.
- Provide support to the customer service team and other service departments.
- Key relationship role with external auditors and tax advisors ensuring sign-off of year-end financial statements and tax computations and managing matters related to the external audit process.
- Responsibility for the preparation & review of statutory financial statements according to statutory guidelines
- Assist with reporting & ad hoc projects as required.
- Provide support to other functions as required.
