We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial reporting, and analysis. This role will be responsible for overseeing various accounting functions, with a focus on international operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and financial integrity.
The ideal candidate will have had some exposure to cross border accounting and tax implications or have a background that will enable the individual to pick up requirements rapidly.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day accounting and tax requirements of international entities in partnership with our advisors.
  • Manage board, and director, information and meeting requirements including preparation for board meetings.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Coordinate and support external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations as needed.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, providing insights to support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including the preparation and submission of tax returns and other statutory filings.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, reviewing their work and providing training as necessary.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers, ensuring accurate recording, depreciation, and disposal of assets.
  • Keep an eye on exchange rates and manage FEC and SPOT transactions (USD & GBP).
  • Assist in cashflow management, monitoring liquidity and optimizing working capital.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data, track expenses, and ensure proper allocation of costs.
  • Lead and oversee financial projects from initiation to successful completion, ensuring quality, timeliness, and overall satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and standards and ensure compliance with relevant laws.
  • Review contractual agreements to evaluate financial and business risk.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • A relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA).
  • Proven experience as an Accountant, with 3-plus years of mid-level accounting experience.
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with acute attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Xero accounting and Sage payroll.
