ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or similar
  • Must be able to work to tight deadlines with high levels of accuracy and skills in problem solving.
  • Good communication skills, must be comfortable and professional dealing with Senior Management level.
  • Experience in ERP systems is preferred due to involvement in projects close.
  • Strong excel skills are required due to interpretation of large levels of data.
  • Experience in an international group of companies is preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the accurate reporting of monthly management and legal results to Group Finance in line with deadlines
  • This role is the main interface between Africa entities and the group reporting team in Sharjah, responsible for working with them to understand any reporting issues and implementing required group changes. This may involve provision of training or support to other areas of the business.
  • Management of the month end close timetable, ensuring other areas of the business adhere to timetable and reporting requirements
  • Responsible for the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring they reconcile back to the projects ledger and posting all necessary journals to correctly categorise results and amend any reconciliation issues
  • Close Project and GL periods in Fusion
  • Full understanding of complex group structure in order to reconcile legal entity versus sub service line management reporting.
  • Completion and review of balance sheet reconciliations as assigned and any issues identified to be dealt with in a timely manner
  • Provide support for intercompany reporting and reconciliation as required
  • Half Year and Full Year Additional Reporting Requirements under IFRS Accounting Regulations
  • Work with the auditors at half year and full year end and manage team’s reporting requirements to the auditors
  • Make sure processes are aligned to Petrofac accounting policies and processes are changed to reflect changes in these as required
  • Constantly looking for improvements in the reporting process, identifying areas generating need for corrections, identifying root cause and addressing issues
  • Identifying and implementing system improvements to increase the efficiency of reporting process
  • Finance Improvement Project tasks as allocated
  • Ad hoc reports as required by management
  • Assist wider finance community as required
  • Escalating issues to the Finance Manager when required and keeping them briefed on the teams activities
  • Management and development of staff
  • Accountants and Assistant Accountant
  • Develop strong relationship with Budgeting & reporting teams to ensure their results are reported accurately and timely
  • Mentoring junior members of staff
