ICEYE is building and operating its commercial constellation of small Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites with SAR data available to customers. Our satellites acquire images of Earth at any time – even when it’s cloudy or dark – providing commercial and government partners with unmatched persistent monitoring capabilities. Information derived from our SAR images helps customers make data-driven decisions to address time-critical challenges in various sectors, such as maritime, disaster management, insurance, and finance.
The company has received over $313 million in funding so far from investors such as Lifeline Ventures, True Ventures, Draper Associates, Space Capital, Molten Ventures, OTB Ventures, Tesi, EIF, Promus Ventures, New Space Capital, Seraphim Space, BAE Systems and DNX Ventures. ICEYE had revenues of approx. €50 million in 2022 and employs 500+ FTE in Finland, Poland, USA, UK, and Spain (50% of the colleagues are in Finland).
About the role
As ICEYE is continuing on its scaling journey, the finance organization is expanding and growing. Therefore, the company is looking for a new Accountant, Revenue, responsible for analyzing ICEYE´s past transactions and presenting valuable information about the company’s performance. You will also be expected to advise, audit accounts and provide trustworthy information about financial records. This is a new position reporting to the Senior Manager – Revenue Recognition
Description of Duties
- Interpret and apply revenue recognition standards, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting principles (e.g., IFRS 15, US GAAP)
- Review customer contracts and agreements to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment including the preparation of related accounting memorandums under IFRS 15
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Analyze and assess revenue streams, identifying trends, discrepancies, and potential risks
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information and data for revenue recognition
- Prepare and review journal entries related to revenue recognition
- Reconcile and analyze revenue-related accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Support the month-end close process and financial reporting
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of revenue recognition processes and decisions
- Prepare revenue-related financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Work closely with Sales, Operations, Legal, and FP&A operations teams to ensure alignment on revenue recognition matters
- Provide guidance and support to other departments on revenue recognition issues.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of annual audits related to revenue recognition
- Address audit inquiries and provide necessary documentation
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in revenue recognition processes
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and industry best practices

REQUIREMENTS:
Required
- Min. 5 years of experience working as an accountant – preferably a major part focused on revenue recognition
- Strong understanding of international revenue recognition standards (IFRS 15) and US GAAP
- Demonstrated ability to accurately work with large amounts of financial and accounting data
- Good organizational and planning skills
- Accustomed to working in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency with accounting and financial software
- Excellent English language skills
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree from relevant field (accounting, finance, economics, business administration etc.)
Preferred
- Master’s degree from relevant fields (accounting, finance, economics, business administration etc.)
- Experience working in international settings would be ideal
- Experience working with Netsuite
