Description:

Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill a Senior Accountant role with a growing Reno company. This is the ideal job for an experienced Staff Accountant or Senior Accountant looking to take the next step in their career! The individual in this role will need to be a self-starter who can successfully complete general ledger reconciliations, month end close for multiple entities and assist in the preparation of a consolidated financial reporting package. The position will entail:

  • Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions for 1-2 entities utilizing QuickBooks.
  • Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
  • Assisting in the coordination and preparation of internal and external financial statements for multiple entities
  • Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
  • Assisting in the budget process
  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
  • Evaluating accounting and internal control systems and the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed.
  • Establishing and maintaining internal controls
  • Managing the general ledger
  • Providing monthly, quarterly and year-end analyses
  • Audit accounts payable

Candidates should have a BS Degree in Accounting and at least 4 years of related work experience, be familiar with Financial Statement preparation, and have managed accounting functions. A CPA or time in public accounting is highly desirable, but not required. Strong technology skills are required.   • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable
  • 5+ years of recent relevant financial experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer service mindset
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • Reliable technology and analytical abilities
  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
  • Proficiency in general ledger
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial statement preparation
  • Journal entries experience
  • Annual External Audit experience
  • Microsoft Excel experience preferred
