Senior Accountant

Robert Half Finance & Accounting is partnering with a rapidly growing healthcare client in Baton Rouge in search of a dynamic senior accountant. This role handles financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, revenue management, cash flow analysis, budgeting and forecasting, audit preparation, internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. How you will make an impact

• Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
• Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner
• Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP
• Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
• Engage in various department-wide initiatives
• Successfully collaborate with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, controls and provide support on special requests when necessary
• Present Balance Sheet account reconciliations
• Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
• Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary
• Experience in healthcare accounting
• 3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
• Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
• Proficient in ERP systems such as MS Dynamics, SAP, Lawson, Netsuite, etc.
• Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
• BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
• Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
• Must have excellent time management skills
• Proficiency in reconciliations
• General ledger experience
• Financial statement preparation experience
• Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
• SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
• Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
