Description:

Looking to take the next step in your accounting career? Check out this fantastic opportunity for a Staff Accountant through Robert Half at a dynamic firm. As a Staff Accountant, you’ll be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You’ll also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will also participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. A good deal of time in this position will be spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Based in the Denver, Colorado area, this company is offering a short-term contract / temporary opportunity that’s sure to challenge as well as reward effort.

Key responsibilities

  • Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
  • Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
  • Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
  • Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Be a part of various department-wide initiatives
  • Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
  • Maintain monthly payment schedules
  • Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
  • Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
  • Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
  • Strong familiarity with Inventory Accounting
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cost accounting
  • Command of general ledger
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
  • Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the “why”
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
  • Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities
