If you have a background in accounting and are searching for a role with a highly respected Transport firm, Robert Half may have the Senior Accountant position for you. This role handles financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Candidates need to bring strong analytical skills to the role and should be capable of handling challenging, fast-paced work environments. This Senior Accountant role is based in Chicago, Illinois with a company in the Transport field. Great compensation, benefits, and chances for advancement are all part of the package.

REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
High attention to detail
Strong time management skills preferred
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
Skill with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Experience with ERP systems
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Microsoft Excel experience
3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

Responsibilities:

Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests
Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
