JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and analyse financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
  • Review and approve journal entries, invoices, and other accounting transactions.
  • Coordinate and lead with Regulatory accountant external audits, ensuring timely completion and compliance with audit requirements.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, assisting with training, problem-solving, and complex accounting issues.
  • Monitor and analyse financial data, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and management, to support business objectives and initiatives.
  • Stay current with accounting regulations and best practices, making recommendations for process improvements and compliance enhancements.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, ACCA or related field required.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role, with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with a track record of developing and guiding junior staff.
  • Commitment to integrity, ethics, and professionalism in all aspects of work.
