POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in overseeing general accounting, analyzing variances, driving process improvements and completing the month end close for our CJ Hensch subsidiary based in Texas. Reporting to the Controller and collaborating closely with the General Manager - CJ Hensch, this position requires a high attention to detail and advanced analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Actively support the General Manager by providing financial insights and facilitating strategic decision-making through analyses
  • Manage cash flow by monitoring daily transactions, forecasting cash needs, and recommending strategies to improve working capital efficiency
  • Prepare and analyze, monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS
  • Execute monthly financial closing tasks, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and flux analysis
  • Manage the accounts receivable billing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Collaborate with department heads on budget development and monitoring. Assist in financial forecasts, identifying areas for cost optimization and revenue enhancement
  • Work with auditors during interim and year-end audits
  • Manage travel and expense reimbursements for field technicians
  • Coordinate and oversee accounts payable tasks, including processing invoices, verifying transactions, and ensuring timely payments to vendors
  • Continuously assess and enhance financial processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy. Implement best practices and recommend relevant technology solutions

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with a CPA designation
  • Proficiency in US GAAP, ASPE, IFRS and relevant financial accounting regulations
  • Familiarity with the following tools: Microsoft Excel, Netsuite, SalesForce, Xero, Work Ect, Bill.com
  • Strong organizational skills and proactive problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present financial analysis to diverse audiences
