We’ll be looking for you to join our highly skilled accounting team. This role will require you to take on several complex and crucial responsibilities when it comes to monitoring and improving account processes.

Responsibilities:

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures timely completion of accounting close process responsibilities.
  • Analyzes complex financial transactions and reports, determining accounting reserves, capitalizing assets, and expense recognition, among other judgments.
  • Reviews verifies, and certifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting records.
  • Prepares reconciliations, rolls forwards, and clears reconciling items timely.
  • Identifies opportunities to realize efficiencies and implements process improvements.
  • Prepares income statements, balance sheets, and other financial statements.
  • Provides financial reporting and analysis to management and business partners.
  • Participates in and implements accounting projects, including new systems, products, or accounting standard changes.
  • May function as an accounting liaison and/or provide work direction to less experienced accounting staff.
  • Responsible for the entire registration and reconciliation process of MT Peru’s operations with Western Union Canada.
  • Assist with both internal and external financial as well as control audits.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • 4 - 6 years of experience in financial accounting.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is desirable.
  • Analytical, organized, and methodical.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving.
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel.
  • Knowledge of Oracle and other financial tools is preferred.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS is required.
  • Teamwork attitude.
  • Upper Intermediate/Advanced English is required.
