SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

  • 4+ years of public accounting and audit experience

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possessing leadership qualities and ability to support team members and goals.
  • Strong commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Completion of a University Accounting degree and completion of CPA designation or at least substantial progress thereto
  • Development of a business advisor mindset is important
  • Thorough knowledge and experience working with IFRS, ASPE and CAS to be able to complete complex areas of an engagement
  • Experience with IFRS and ASPE preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate well with clients, managers and partners
  • Possessing strong project management skills and organization, with the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Caseware/Jazz-it, Tax Prep, QuickBooks and Simply Accounting

Responsibilities:

AS THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE THE FOLLOWING DUTIES:

  • Independent completion of audit, review and compilation files and related tax preparation

  • Preparing more complex areas of the file

  • Preparing personal tax returns
  • Preparing corporate tax returns and preparing appropriate tax checklists
  • Completing and overseeing others’ work on files
  • Coaching Junior and Intermediate accountants by providing input and expertise where necessary
  • Building effective and long lasting working relationships on assignments with operational client contacts
  • Preparing complex areas of the file
  • Reviewing the accuracy of work completed by Junior and Intermediate team members
  • Responding effectively and efficiently to client, manager and partner requests

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning, execution and completion of files
  • Understanding technical standards with the expected level of assistance and supervision
  • Building effective working client relationships on assignments with operational client contacts
  • Managing allocated projects or assignments, including time management
  • Responding effectively to client, manager and partner requests and suggestions relating to an assignment
  • Supervising and training junior and intermediate staff
  • maintaining technical knowledge – IFRS, ASPE, CAS - by: attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; and establishing personal networks
  • Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
