Description:
SUMMARY:
Reporting to Director, Finance, compile, investigate and analyze CQ Canada financial information. Performs complex activities associated with reviewing ledger accounts and analyzing financial results or variances, cross functional reporting to local Canadian leadership and/or corporate department leads. Oversees a small team of analysts inclusive of procurement and trade/vendor AP. This position will have regular interaction with other departments and resources throughout the Company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include, but are not limited to the following (other duties may be assigned):
1. Partners with and provides analytical support to other operating and administrative areas.
2. Prepares monthly financial analysis and develops presentations for senior management.
3. Analyzes monthly financial close results including high level review of various balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger journal entries and supporting schedules and collaborate with corporate Accounting to resolve any issues in a timely manner.
4. Provides day-to-day work direction to other accounting support personnel.
5. Collaborates in various corporate accounting meetings to represent Canadian accounting matters.
6. Assists with annual operating plan preparation and updates to periodic forecasts with Canadian business leaders.
7. Provide recommendations for process and technology improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Min 4 – 6 years’ Work Experience as a Sr Accounting Analyst in a wholesale or retail environment.
- CPA or equivalent.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and ERP skills. Working knowledge of Oracle Cloud is preferred.
- Must have leadership/supervisory experience; Demonstrated ability to lead others and provide day-to-day work direction.
- Must be able to analyze data, draw conclusions, interpret results, and make recommendations to leadership.
- Highly detail oriented and organized; able to complete assignments according to schedule with minimal supervision or direction.
- A team player who has strong communications and interpersonal skills to work in conjunction with other departments, vendors, and internal and external customers.
- Excellent working knowledge of accounting procedures and practices with focus on SGA, capital, inventory, and gross margin.
