Senior Accounting Analyst II
Cambridge - Hub & Hybrid
We have a great opportunity for a Senior Accounting Analyst II to join our Accounting Team in Cambridge, where you will be responsible for a number of legal entities within the Europe region.
This role is based in Cambridge and will be hub and hybrid with the expectation of 1 to 2 days a week in the Illumina Centre office.

Why you:
You will have a proven solid accounting background with experience of developing and maintaining one or more accounting systems including journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation.
As a professional controller of your own entities, you will have excellent problem-solving skills and ability to effectively collaborate with the wider accounting functions. You will be the main point of contact for accounting queries from various internal functions and external stakeholders, therefore effective communication skills are essential.
You will review and interpret financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations. Balances books and prepare profit and loss, cash flow, income and balance sheet statements and monitor and develop monthly reports of revenue and expenditure for projects.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Provides record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions.
  • May assist in the setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report transactions in accordance with company policy.
  • May interpret reports and records for managers/stakeholders.
  • Applies advanced wide-ranging experience and professional knowledge to provide solutions in creative and effective ways.
  • Directs the application of existing principles and guides development of new policies and ideas. Understands the interrelationships of different disciplines.
  • Works on complex assignments where problem solving requires in-depth evaluation of varying factors and practices/procedures must be determined.
  • Enhances internal and external working relationships and networks with key contacts outside area of expertise.
  • Adapts style to differing audiences and frequently advises others on complex matters that relate to the wider business and require persuasion.
  • May train and mentor junior level staff.
  • Work is reviewed upon completion and is consistent with departmental objectives.
  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Responsible for preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly management accounts.
  • Management and oversight of the external audit process and external financial reporting.

Experience/Education:
You will have as strong accounting proven experience alongside ACCA / ACA / CIMA or equivalent Qualification.
This role would suit both individuals from practice and industry commercially focused backgrounds.
