We are seeking a skilled and organized Accountant to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping, and financial tasks. We are looking for a motivated individual who can work with a team and independently to achieve professional goals.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CORE SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from an accredited institute or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of Canadian and/or US accounting experience.
  • Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language
  • Experience with Amazon Accounting
  • Advanced computer skills including ERP systems (Preferably NetSuite), Microsoft Office
  • Proactive problem-solving/judgment skills
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Attention to detail
  • Organized, proactive and self-motivated individual capable of producing results and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and work in a fast-paced, business environment
  • Expected to manage work with minimum supervision
    Pay Rate (per year): $74,000 to $77,000

Responsibilities:

  • Performs together with the finance team all duties associated with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Performs full cycle month-end close process including preparing journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Prepares monthly credit card reconciliations and related journal entries
  • Acts as a liaison and builds relationships with all departments to resolve accounting issues
  • Works closely with other team members to coordinate responsibilities and prioritize tasks to ensure that all key deadlines are met
  • Files monthly sales tax and EHT returns
  • Provides direction and feedback to junior assistants
  • Assists in the preparation for the annual audit
  • Participates in the rollout of finance projects and initiatives
  • Identifies opportunities for efficiencies and improvements
  • Performs other duties as required
