Description:

AWN is expanding its Acoustics Team and is currently seeking an experienced Senior Acoustic Consultant. The successful candidate will join our dynamic team, leading challenging and exciting projects spanning various sectors, including data centres, transportation infrastructure, renewable energy, pharma facilities, large-scale residential developments, and commercial developments. The Acoustics Team at AWN has 18 technical staff based in Ireland and Spain. We are also part of the wider Built Environment team within Trinity Consultants inc. with acoustics teams across North America, in New York, Chicago, Toronto and Brisbane, Australia.
The Senior Acoustic Consultant will play a vital role in driving project success, leveraging their experience to deliver projects on time for our clients. Candidates should be highly driven and excel in a team environment. A strong balance of technical expertise and project management skills, exceptional communication/written skills are crucial to lead a variety of complex projects effectively.
The position is available as a hybrid role, if required. We welcome applications from remote workers based only in the UK; however, occasional travel to our Dublin office in Ireland will be required..

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience working in the consulting sector as an acoustic consultant
  • Proven track record in delivering complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum BSc or BA (Hons) degree in engineering, environmental science or related discipline.
  • Membership of the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA)
  • Full Driving Licence.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to lead initiatives.
  • Candidates must be familiar with current acoustic standards and be familiar with acoustic modelling and calculation software and acoustic instrumentation.
  • High attention to detail, excellent report writing, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to assemble various strands of complex data into clear, concise outputs.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and adapt to evolving project requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Acoustic Consultant, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Manage projects from inception to completion including project finances.
  • Technical coordination of acoustic assessments.
  • Technical report writing.
  • Providing direction to team members and sub-consultants, ensuring high standards and effective project delivery.
  • Communicating with clients, team members, external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with all project requirements and up to date standards.
  • Work proactively on the development of new business, and clients.
  • Developing strategies, proposals and advice to address and anticipate client needs.
