POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Actuarial Analyst will be responsible for organizing, analyzing, and investigating Healthmap Solutions data.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Finance, Management information systems or other related focus
  • 3 years of experience using Excel (Visualization, Pivot Tables, Summarizing), Database manipulation in SQL (Updates, Joins, Data types), Financial Analysis (Trending vs. Actual), Working with Project Managers and Technical Groups
  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of the CMS Hierarchical condition category (HCC) model including calculating individual risk scores based on claim data
  • Prior experience with large data
  • Prior experience with healthcare data within health plan or vendor environment

SKILLS

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and business skills
  • Strong attention to detail including precise and effective communications and
  • Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to “think out of the box” and develop creative solutions

Responsibilities:

  • Compile and organize healthcare data
  • Analyze data, HCC trends, risk score improvement opportunities and the business impact of each to assist in developing optimal care management and decision making
  • Use healthcare data to assist in administrative and operational goals
  • Investigate data to find patterns and trends
  • Utilize different data sources for analysis
  • Develop reports and presentations
  • Communicate analytics insights to management
  • Build Models and analyzing data to unearth trends and patterns
  • Delve into data to discover discrepancies and patterns
  • Suggest ways to both increase healthcare quality and lower costs
  • Collaborate with management and internal teams to implement and evaluate improvements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
