Actuarial Senior Manager

The opportunity
A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced insurance professional and actuary to join QBE Insurance in the role of Actuarial Senior Manager. In this role you will play a key part in the delivery of core actuarial work for the Australia Pacific Division and work closely with the Heads of Reserving, Chief Reserving Actuary, broader finance function and other areas of the business.
You will lead and coordinate the delivery of key actuarial work and engage broadly across the actuarial team and broader business. Through your leadership of other actuaries and analysts, you will provide full actuarial support as well as valuation, monitoring, budgeting, process improvement and stakeholder engagement. You will also be responsible for a large numbers of products with a broad span of responsibilities.

About you

  • You are an experienced actuarial professional, with a demonstrated history of success working across various lines of general insurance portfolios.
  • A reserving background with experience across short and long tail portfolios would be advantageous. Experience in budgeting, forecasting and actuarial report writing would also be desirable.
  • A relevant qualification and actuarial fellowship within the field will support your success and is highly desirable. Strong technical ability and engagement skills will also be favoured.
  • You have the ability to harness your expertise to lead other actuarial staff whilst engaging effectively with stakeholders across a broad and complex business.
  • You’ll have a strong ability to manage projects and priorities within a busy and demanding environment, operating efficiently to achieve positive outcomes.
