Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Advisor in the Rio Tinto Aluminium Business Analysis Team – Pacific, whose main function is to offer insightful, timely and high-quality analyses via building/maintaining asset financial models. You will be a key influencer in major strategic decisions and help to navigate uncertainty and risks to create and protect value for Pacific Operations Alumina assets in the RTA portfolio.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining the business valuation models and providing financial analyses to support strategic initiatives, Investment Committee submissions, compliance (impairment etc) and planning processes.
- Building new and simplified models for new analyses and to improve team efficiency
- Reviewing capex and commercial contract proposals to identify and evaluate commercial opportunities.
To be successfully considered for this role, you will possess the following:
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Engineering or similar.
- A passion for financial modelling and desire to learn the integrated aluminium business
- Experience in managing complex valuation models and distilling key business insights.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial, finance and/or operational roles, with previous experience in mining and resource industries highly desirable.
- Be a strategic thinker, have a creative outlook combined with practicality and strategic focus.
- Ability to facilitate meetings and communicate results.
- Sound values with high business integrity
