JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable engineering disciplines; must be registered with, Professional Engineers Ontario as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng).
  • 8+ years of relevant employment experience in environmental engineering (preferably in consulting environment).
  • Superior written communication skills are essential. Ability to communicate well with others and engage in technical conversations.
  • Works well independently as well as a part of a team.
  • Familiarity with relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, AERMOD, SCREEN3, CALPUFF, ASHRAE.
  • Strong knowledge of provincial legislation and regulations relating to environmental air emissions.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills with fluency (reading, writing and oral) in English
  • Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.

You will be a part of growing and adapting the air assessment and monitoring service line and will be able to provide mentorship to intermediate and junior team members. Reporting to the Group Manager, you will be a project lead and oversee deliverables, financials, and client needs for a diverse portfolio of projects. This position requires an individual with a proven track record of successfully overseeing projects who also has an appreciation for variety, learning, and working with skilled personnel to assist our clients with air quality challenges.

  • Development of strong working relationships with clients and internal staff to support project performance.
  • Completing proposals for various scopes of work that are inclusive of the suggested work program, fees, and qualifications.
  • Collaborate with other project managers to manage air quality scope and deliverables on multi-discipline Cambium projects.
  • Guiding the team toward meeting project objectives by overseeing the activities, preparation of documentation, and communication efforts.
  • Planning and coordination of technical aspects of projects.
  • Supervising data collection, calculation methods, modelling, analysis, interpretation, and documentation of results and engineering opinions.
  • Be accountable for project performance and ensure quality and timelines are achieved and client expectations are met.
  • Managing the financial activities associated with several ongoing projects including issuing invoices, tracking revenues, and understanding where the scope of work may need to be altered and the related cost implications.
  • Participating in technical activities for air quality assessments including data collection/analysis and emission modelling.
  • Conduct atmospheric dispersion modelling using AERMOD, CALPUFF, SCREEN3, and other atmospheric dispersion models.
  • Write and review technical reports that present air quality methodology, recommendations, mitigation requirements, and results.
  • Complete Emission Summary and Dispersion Modelling (ESDM) reports to support ECA applications or EASR registrations.
  • Assist with the design of emission controls.
  • Consult with and answer technical questions from colleagues, other project support staff, and clients.
  • Adherence to health and safety protocols for self and support staff, if applicable
