Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Senior Analyst provides data and information in response to complex queries from operational and clinical stakeholders and clients across all levels of the organization. The Senior Analyst consults with clients (e.g., physicians, nurses, allied health, IT, Quality and Performance) to fully understand and define the questions and investigation at hand, determines the appropriate methodology, data types and sources to use, completes the required analysis in alignment with DnA analytic quality standards (including descriptive statistics and more advanced methods including inferential and predictive statistics), provides interpretations and recommendations, and presents the findings/information in a manner that drives insight and makes data accessible to audiences with varying experience in data and statistics.
The data and information provided by the Senior Analyst supports operational and business planning, strategic planning, evaluation, and research, as well as performance reporting for AHS and Carewest, in multiple areas. The Senior Analyst investigates a data source’s fit for purpose, prepares data for analysis, and integrates data across multiple and complex data sources. The Senior Analyst works directly with data extracted from multiple systems (corporate and clinical) and leverages reporting and analytic capabilities within Connect Care. The Senior Analyst is a valued contributor to Carewest’s ability to deliver high-quality, relevant analytic products across Carewest enabling knowledge sharing, organizational consistency, standards/best practice, and team balance. The Senior Analyst also provides advice, recommends and develops performance measures, interfacing and liaising with various client groups (e.g., HIM, Corporate Services, physicians, nurses, allied health, AHS IT, Quality & Performance, & Safety).

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s-level education with a strong quantitative component in a related field, e.g., community health sciences, health economics, biomedical statistics, epidemiology, quality assurance, business or engineering, or several years of equivalent experience.
  • A combination of education, skills and experience may be considered.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
