  • Min 5 years real estate experience, preferably from a bank, accounting, law, valuation firm
  • Experience of, and enthusiasm for property investment and development
  • Keen understanding and appreciation of property market trends
  • Excellent financial modelling skills with high degree of fluency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Highly literate with ability to write clear, concise, incisive reports
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills and close attention to detail
  • Ability and credibility to communicate clearly and persuasively at all levels.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

As an Analyst in small team, you work closely with the Directors of all aspects of the investment process, from origination through to execution, and ongoing portfolio management.

  • Work on the evaluation, underwriting and structuring of real estate debt and equity investments across the NZ real estate finance markets
  • Involved in all stages of the origination of real estate debt transactions, from the initial screening of a new transaction to the due diligence and documentation review, through to the loan closing process
  • Assist with the preparation and review of offer letters for acceptance by the customer
  • Perform valuation analyses using various real estate valuation methodologies, including discounted cash flow, multiples valuation and transaction comparables as well as reviewing valuations prepared by third party valuation firms
  • Build detailed financial models to evaluate real estate performance under various operating scenarios and to analyse the impacts of various capital structures
  • Assist in preparation of credit papers for presentation to credit committee
  • Liaising with external professionals including valuers, QS, legal, consultants
  • Attend meetings with clients and stakeholders
  • Ongoing monitoring of development loans/projects including regular site visits to check on-site construction and sales progress
