Description:

The key accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Undertaking detailed modelling and financial analysis to assist in the acquisition and divestment of assets.
  • Applying valuation skills to accurately price and model assets targeted for acquisition and/or divestment.
  • Take a significant role once transactions are in execution phase, by assisting the Capital Transactions Managers with consultant briefing/management, due diligence, and data validation.
  • Gather market intelligence for the benefit of the broader QIC Real Estate business.
  • Compilation of deal flow pipeline reports for QIC managed Funds and clients.
  • Interpret and apply due diligence findings to pricing model and apply revisions based on due diligence results as required.
  • Analyse, model and interpret market research to identify investment trends and the key drivers impacting the market.
  • Develop and design new property investment procedures, models and systems to continually improve the sophistication and efficiency of Capital Transactions analytical systems and tools.
  • Research and compile financial benchmarks, which can be used in the assessment of acquisition opportunities

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking an experienced Analyst or Senior Analyst to join our Capital Transactions team based in either Brisbane or Sydney.
This role is pivotal in facilitating real estate transactions for a diverse portfolio of QIC Managed Funds and Mandates, each with unique investment objectives.
You will be working with the wider Capital Transactions team, as well as with senior executives, Fund Managers, and departments like Asset Management, Investment Management, and Development. The role spans across all core asset classes but with a focus on institutional retail property.

This is a role which focusses on the modelling and financial analysis of multi sector real estate investments. A highly numerate individual with attention to detail and an analytical investment mind will succeed in this challenging role. You will also have:

  • Degree in Property Economics (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience within Capital Transactions and a property valuation background
  • Experience with institutional retail property.
  • Strong understanding of property valuation techniques, investment theory and property analysis/return measures.
  • An advanced proficiency in Excel and Forbury Modelling.
  • Ability to identify critical issues and risks during investment analysis and modelling. Implement considered and timely reporting and recommendations relating to such issues.
  • The ability to successfully communicate with both internal and external colleagues through appropriate written and verbal skills.
  • Able to successfully integrate into a dynamic property investment team and provide positive input to investment performance and procedural issues
