Join us as a Senior Analyst in our Group Performance & Analytics team.

  • Our Performance & Analytics team is a high performing, collaborative and business orientated team that work closely with the Divisions, Treasury and Finance teams to support Challenger’s overall strategy.
  • In this key role you’ll provide insights to a wide range of stakeholders which will support strategic decision-making.

  • We work flexibly from our Sydney CBD Office where you can expect to work 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

What you’ll do:
As a Senior Analyst you’ll be providing financial analysis and management reporting on the Challenger Group results, working with key stakeholders across the Group including the Customer Division on commercial sales analysis.

Reporting to the Head of Group Business Performance & Analytics, you’ll have a customer centric and business partnering approach to your portfolio of work and your key focuses will be.

  • Budgeting and forecasting – collaborating with your stakeholders to develop and maintain budgets and forecasts.
  • Regulatory reporting – Analyst pack metrics and various market disclosures
  • Management reporting – monthly financial packs and board paper reporting to senior stakeholders within tight deadlines
  • Stakeholder Management – Build strong relationships with your key stakeholders and business unit managers presenting results and analysis to key stakeholders including business unit owners and senior finance personnel.
  • Supporting the Head of Group Business Performance on a range of regular and ad hoc deliverables for Senior Management

We’ll also look to you to identify opportunities to innovate and improve business processes to increase efficiencies and reduce risk.
The skills you’ll need:
You’ll need to be CA / CPA (or equivalent) qualified, or close to completion. You have a strong financial background with at least 3 years relevant experience from a financial control, financial assurance or within a management accounting, business performance and analytics type role.
You’ll be a strong user of MS Office in particular Excel and be comfortable working with large amounts of data with the ability to synthesise into meaningful insights and analysis. You’ll use your strong communication and interpersonal skills to help communicate complex data in a concise and clear manner to your stakeholders and wider team.

You’ll also have:

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a history of breaking down problems, finding key issues and resolving with a range of different options.
  • Experience of influencing & managing multiple stakeholders, with competing priorities.
  • The ability to translate and present financial concepts and reporting to none finance stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with Anaplan or other forecasting & reporting tools (e.g., PowerBI, Workiva) is highly regarded but not essential.
  • Experience working in Financial Services highly regarded.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, you’ll be as comfortable working collaboratively as you are when working independently.
