Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Issuer Services, you will contribute to the daily activities which include review, analysis of issuer offering documents submitted for onboarding and approval for eligibility in CDS clearing and settlement services. These activities are in support of IPO’s, private placements, corporate actions, post trade processing, as well as cross border transactions. The team also ensures that data integrity is maintained following established ISO & global standards. Your role involves working with multiple systems for processing client requests, input of data, customer support and collaborating with teams to ensure all services are completed on time.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ongoing customer interaction with issuers and other intermediaries (Participants, Legal Counsel, Underwriters, Federal/Provincial/Municipal Financing authorities, Transfer Agents etc) in review of requirements and verify or confirm details to complete assessment related to their requests
  • Complete analysis of documentation supporting new issues to determine the infrastructure and processing requirements associated with issue set up including critical items as; security restrictions, specialized tax implications, unique entitlement / reorganization features, relevant rates, critical dates and any specialized processing requirements.
  • Maintain internal issuer details and ensure timely input of data in various databases
  • Ensure all client requests and relevant data management activities are processed accurately, within the established guidelines and associated deadlines.
  • Research, analyze and resolve issues and discrepancies identified and/or escalate critical issues promptly.
  • A commitment to recommending improved productivity and efficiency through continual review of processing activities
  • Assist with delivery on functions or projects within the team

Must haves:

  • 2-3 year’s progressive operational/business experience in the Securities Financial Industry with knowledge of the Issuer Community and Reorganization/Corporate Action processing.
  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service, maintain relationships, and work in a team environment
  • A good understanding of the roles of the various entities within the Canadian Capital Markets (ie) Transfer Agents, Paying Agents, Issuers, Custodians, Depositories, Numbering Agencies, etc.
  • A good understanding of the different types of securities and associated features.
  • Familiarity with Issuer offering documents and circulars (Prospectus, Offering Circular, Articles of Incorporation, etc.)
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge of Excel, & Google Suite as well as knowledge of other systems (MS Office, etc.).
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong ability to balance competing priorities in a time sensitive environment

Nice to haves:

  • Canadian Securities Course
  • Proficency in French both written and oral is preferred as the role involves dealing with French speaking clients as well
