We are seeking candidates who are passionate about shaping our future, and ideally have the following qualifications, skills, and experiences:

  • Tertiary qualifications in data science, engineering, business intelligence, economics or equivalent experience and specialist professional development.
  • Experience performing complex analysis and utilising advanced data modelling and testing techniques to enable data analysis.
  • Experience in at least one of business intelligence and reporting, investment modelling, data science, or economics.
  • Most importantly, we are looking for someone who oozes an enthusiasm and passionate for data analytics, and is also curious about the water industry and how to find outcomes that enrich the lives of our customers and communities.

Some of your accountabilities will include:

  • Evaluate the need for analytics, assess the problems to be solved and what internal or external data sources to use or acquire. Determine the data and analytics approach to support the strategic exploration and decision needs.
  • Lead the performance and integration of highly sophisticated analytics to promote understanding of different business areas or critical business challenges/opportunities.
  • Apply investment and business judgement identify data from a wide range of sources to analyse key themes, test planning assumptions and identify possible impacts on the business.
  • Collect complex business requirements using a variety of methods such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.
  • Analyse, assess, and quantify the risks associated with the overall Investment Portfolio, Integrated Plans and Strategic Business Cases to determine whether any risk is within the agreed risk appetite

Responsibilities:

As a part of our renewed focus over the next 10 years, we have a new role for a Senior Analyst Portfolio Planning in our growing Integrated Solutions Group.
The Integrated Solutions Group contributes to Urban Utilities’ purpose and vision and enhances the liveability of our communities through safeguarding financial and economic sustainability of the business, planning to meet the needs of our customers and management of the long-term water cycle and our environmental responsibilities.
The Senior Analyst Portfolio Planning provides specialist knowledge in the area of advanced analytics to support investment planning at all time horizons within the business strategic, tactical and operational landscape. You will play a pivotal role in our digital transformation journey, through strategic development and implementation of decision support tools, continually improving and developing optimised investment plans.
