At ANZ our purpose is to shape a world where people and communities thrive and to achieve this, we need a talented Senior Analyst for Sanctions Projects to join our Financial Crime team. The Financial Crime team sits within Group Compliance and acts swiftly and collaboratively to manage the threats posed to ANZ and its customers by money launderers, financial supporters of terrorism, fraudsters, sanctions evaders and other perpetrators of financial crime.
Risk is a critical function, with highly valued and innovative teams that enable ANZ to deliver its purpose.
The Senior Analyst – Projects (Sanctions) role is critical to making this happen and will be expected to recommend, lead and help implement changes as part of multiple Sanctions projects, engage with stakeholders across FCP Leadership team, Technology, Project and country MLRO stakeholders to achieve the best outcome for ANZ. You will be required to see out projects / initiatives from conception to business implementation, requiring excellent analysis & organizational skills and attention to detail.
This role would suit a collaborative and independent-thinker who would like to join a team of individuals who think outside of the box in finding long-term solutions to problems. Achieving this through identifying, assessing and developing long term future ready new solutions (technical, operational and process based). Solutions will aim to improve the operational and cost efficiencies, increase coverage, detailed exercises in assessing options, educating the longer term vision of portfolio.
What will your day look like
Manage & contribute to the projects / initiatives as a subject matter expert (Sanctions)
Ensure that Sanctions Policy requirements are met through the various initiatives, while having a long term strategic vision
Ensure that project hygiene and timelines are consistently met
Driving multiple initiatives in parallel with different stakeholder groups
Represent Delivery team in Project Meetings and Stakeholder Engagements. Dealing with a wide range of Stakeholders
What will you bring?
Significant experience in Sanctions Area (Investigations, MLRO, or Compliance)
Experience in leading major transformation initiatives, Proof of Concept (Business) exercises independently with evidence of successful outcomes
Thorough knowledge of ANZ’s Sanctions Policy and Sanctions Risks
Working knowledge of Sanctions application set-up, workflows, and controls
Proven experience in the elicitation of requirements and business implementation activities.
Strong analytical skills – ability to deep dive into Solution options and rationally assess them against one another. Very strong communication skills (verbal, written and presentation skills)
General Project Hygiene & Management skill set.
