TMX’s post-trade services include the Canadian Depository for Securities Limited (CDS) and Canadian Derivatives Clearing Corporation (CDCC). CDS is Canada’s national securities depository, clearing and settlement hub for domestic and cross-border depository-eligible securities. It supports Canada’s equity, fixed income and money markets and is accountable for the safe custody and movement of securities, the processing of post-trade transactions, and the collection and distribution of entitlements relating to securities deposited by participants.
CDCC offers clearing and settlement services for all MX transactions and certain over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives. CDCC offers central counterparty and clearing and settlement services for all transactions carried out on MX’s markets and on some OTC products.
As part of the Risk Oversight & Compliance team, the Senior Analyst is a key contributor to the delivery of the CDS and CDCC strategic project initiatives, enhances the default management practices and ensures risk management initiatives are in compliance with CPSS-IOSCO Principles for Financial Market Infrastructure (PFMI’s) and internal policies/procedures.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Analyze financial risk exposures (market, credit and liquidity) and validate other components used to manage financial risks. Make recommendations to streamline current processes and improve efficiency
Participate in the design of internal policies related to market, credit and liquidity risks
Creating and maintaining positive relationships with business partners (Architecture, Operations, Legal, IT) to satisfy their needs and anticipate potential issues
Provide support in risk measurement, and qualitative and quantitative analysis related to equity, fixed income, derivatives, and structured products
Design and operationalize hedging strategies and procedures to manage the default of Clearing Members
