OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years’ vendor management, operational risk management and/or audit experience in financial services
  • Experience Vendor Management software required
  • Experience with One Paper Lane (OPL), Venminder, and Prologue considered an asset
  • Experience with risk and governance software an asset

  • Solid understanding of vendor management and familiarization with operational risk, control design, and testing concepts

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE & SUMMARY

As an integral part of DUCA’s Risk Management team, the Senior Analyst, Vendor Management & Operational Risk manages all elements of DUCA’s Vendor Management program including the due diligence, onboarding, and annual evaluation processes as well as making recommendations related to the associated vendor management policies, programs, and processes. This position will use exceptional communication to elicit engagement from key stakeholders across DUCA while fostering positive relationships with all business lines. Additionally, this position assists the Director in monitoring operational risk activities across DUCA businesses and operations and in preparing operational risk management reports.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & DUTIES

  • Manage the Vendor Management Policy and Processes, including Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and leading annual reviews and updates under DUCA’s policy framework
  • Support business owners and relationship managers to onboard and manage vendors in accordance with the vendor management policy
  • Design and manage the workflow processes through DUCA’s Vendor Management System, due diligence criteria, and policies for the vendor management program to effectively manage risk
  • Identifying and continuously enhance efficiencies associated with vendor onboarding, offboarding, and annual reviews
  • Review vendor agreements to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including but not limited to AML, Privacy, audit rights, and business continuity
  • Compiles and maintains vendor findings/observations and remediation activities for ongoing vendor monitoring
  • Compile and report on Vendor Management program dashboard metrics
  • Review and analyze legacy vendors; partner with business owners to determine ongoing status, determine criticality, and make recommendations related to onboarding activities
  • Assist the Director, Operational Risk in:
  • Roll out of the operational risk management tools and processes including but not limited to Risk & Control Self-Assessments, Key Risk Indicators, Operational Loss Data, Control Testing,
  • Developing and implementing framework and policy/procedures for evaluating risks in New, Initiatives/Products and/or Material Business Changes,
  • Operational risk processes, practices, and reporting
  • Create and maintain effective relationships and regular interactions with all DUCA businesses and functions, auditors, external stakeholders, and regulators, as applicable
  • Identify and assess the resolution of issues which could prevent reasonable assurance that risks are understood and managed within the organization’s risk appetite
