YOUR TEAM:

The Automotive Ethernet Segment (AES) is part of the Product Line (PL) In Vehicle Networking (IVN) and is one of the fastest growing segments within NXP. The applications team within AES is responsible for providing technical support to the field application team, while working closely together with R&D experts, sales team and directly with customers, worldwide. We are well recognized within the automotive market as experts and belong to the cross-industry community that introduces novelties in car networking. The location of this vacancy is Hamburg, Germany.

REQUIRED AND DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Several years of experience of hardware & embedded software development using automotive semiconductors & electronics.
  • Hands-on experience with Ethernet switches, Ethernet physical layer products, high-speed interfaces and embedded microcontrollers.
  • Deep knowledge of Ethernet network implementations, especially concerning Physical Layer devices
  • Knowledge of the automotive market and applications
  • Proven problem solving and debug capabilities.
  • Working with microcontrollers C/C++; Low Level Drivers, Real Time OS, Linux, Python is a plus
  • Known to deal with multi-disciplinary, multi-national teams and able to drive topics to a conclusion.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, paying attention to details and the unique needs of different audiences.
  • Talent to build strong relationships both to internal and external customers.

YOUR EDUCATION AND PERSONALITY:

  • University degree in Electronics, Communications, Computer Science, or similar
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, cross-cultural mind-set
  • Independent working style, fast learner, creative and open for new ideas

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for customer application support activities and system solutions for Ethernet switch and physical layer products and their application in In-Vehicle Networks (IVN)
  • Respond to technical questions from our customer base, perform code reviews, create code and configuration examples and in general provide help for designing with NXP Ethernet products.
  • Reproduction and verification of issues reported by customers; if necessary, on-site support to identify and debug problems both in software and hardware
  • Create customer facing technical documents such as application notes, white papers, FAQ’s, product trainings, etc.
  • Responsible for initiation and leading the development of reference designs and product or solution demonstrators.
  • Cooperate with other application teams within NXP and external 3rd parties to create complete system solution packages and eco-system.
  • Trainings and workshops with automotive manufacturers and their electronic subsystem suppliers
  • Contribute to thought leadership activities through conferences, trade fairs, articles, etc.
