Description:

CES/AWS is seeking a Senior Architect to join our motivated and skilled team in Historic Downtown Chatham.
Must have Canadian experience and must be a licensed architect in a Canadian province

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years of relevant project experience (post-graduate, not including school internships).
  • Canadian/American work experience, ideally within the commercial and industrial sectors.
  • Clear understanding of building science; thorough knowledge of building systems and detailing.
  • Strong technical construction knowledge.
  • Excellent computer drafting abilities with proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Team player who is well-organized, detail-oriented, focused, design-driven, and able to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Motivated self-starter who can problem-solve individually and as part of a project team.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A licensed architect in a Canadian province and/or the United States.
  • Experience in healthcare, institutional, and educational sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with design and production team members to produce fully coordinated architectural working/construction documents.
  • Review technical documents to ensure accuracy and quality control.
  • Create detailed technical drawings following best practice building science criteria with minimal supervision.
  • Coordinate the consultant project team through all phases of a project.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the Ontario Building Code.
  • Expertise in construction and current building materials.
  • Assume responsibilities and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Communicate with the Construction team to provide information and problem-solving.
